Wellness Focus – USANA Supplements

usana_logoIt is common for a chiropractor to make dietary recommendations including micro-nutrient supplementation. Problem people run into is where to get reliable, quality food supplements in Asia when any such recommendation is made? My patients would run to the local “Health Food Store” and buy supplements but they just weren’t getting the expected results. Apparently, in Asia some companies use fillers in their products to lower their costs, and because of the lack of government oversight and enforceability on these products, there is no accountability for these practices. It was a blessing when USANA started to distribute in Asia, out of Manila in particular, so I could recommend products that were reliable.

USANA is an American company that manufactures their supplements entirely in the United States, packages them there and ships them sealed to Asia. They are certified for adhering to strict pharmaceutical manufacturing standards. We have a few Essentials available in our clinic for the convenience of our patients because USANA sells its products MLM or multilevel marketing style and not in retail stores.

When taking USANA nutritional supplements, you want to start with a firm foundation. The EssentialsTM vitamin & mineral supplements provide the optimal amounts of a comprehensive range of micronutrients in their most bioavailable forms. The EssentialsTM vitamin & mineral supplement for adults are a combination of two products: Mega AntioxidantTM and Chelated MineralTM supplements. Once your foundation is established, a range of add-on Optimizer supplements enables you to customize a nutritional program to meet your specific needs. The more common are:

  • ProflavanolTM bioflavonoid supplement supplies powerful bioflavonoids from exceptional-quality grape-seed extract, which is clinically proven to sustain sound cardiovascular health.
  • The CoQuinoneTM 30 coenzyme Q10 supplement supplies an advanced amount of CoQ10, which is vital for cardiovascular health, sound muscle function, and healthy nerve function.
  • The BiOmegaTM supplement supplies pure, natural fish oil rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for optimal health and wellness. In particular, they support a healthy heart and joints.
  • The Hepasil DTXTM supplement supplies important nutrients that support the liver and balance the detoxification processes within the body.
  • The Active CalciumTM supplement supplies nutrients that work together to promote strong, healthy bones. It also supports healthy muscle function and strength.
  • The ProcosaTM II supplement supplies an advanced dosage of nutrients that support and maintain the cartilage in your joints.
  • The VisionexTM supplement provides a comprehensive array of powerful antioxidants that protect the eyes, promote healthy eye function, and resist against potentially damaging environmental factors to help maintain healthy vision.
  • The USANA® Nutrimealâ„¢ meal replacement drink mix is a low glycemic, balanced meal replacement drink that includes quality proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, and many micro-nutrients for a sensible diet start-up.

My family has been on USANA’s Essentials since 2010 as a daily micro-nutrient supplement to our already wholesome dietary habits. This in combination with proper lifestyle and proper chiropractic care we are just never sick!

Yours in Health,

Thank you for your question, Marivic. Before individual supplements like Hepasil are introduced there needs to be a basic full spectrum vitamin-mineral (Essentials) taken so the special interest supplements can work in synchronicity with the rest. CoQ10 alone for example is not nearly as effective as when it is taken in combination with the Essentials. docMIKE
